Artist Research Question 2

The look Kimya Dawson typically goes for is the look of no effort. Not known because she doesnt have any music videos but in live performances and other things on Youtube she rarely dresses up for shows, the clothes she wears very casual and very boring natural colours. Even though its not much to see on stage it boosts the fact that (typical to the genre) its more about the music than anything else, the music is the common dinominator. The fact she has unkempt hair, tattoos and piercings makes her relateable to people and in that sense makes her unique to other artists who try to be different and stick out; Kimyas whole purpose is to be on the same level...but not quite.



When performing the only instrument on stage is usually an acoustic guitar, which she plays herself. The guitar is always edited to suit her quirky personality and adds to the image that is Kimya Dawson
